Brexit and Darnall Forum

Staff, trustees and volunteers have been wondering what effect the Brexit decision is likely to have on Darnall Forum. Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber (SEYH), the umbrella group for organisations like ours, has concluded that it may affect our chances of getting commissions and grants.

We have already been seriously affected by years of recession and government cutbacks. SEYH thinks things could now get even worse. They warn today that "the effects of Brexit are already being felt."

In the long run the government will have to decide whether to replace the EU funding which currently pays for a lot of the adult community learning in Darnall. This will affect whoever holds the Council's contract for adult community learning.

However, we will keep on battling to deliver services and support for the people of Darnall.
